SUP 2 CLEAN
Paddle for a Purpose
Our stand-up paddleboarding campaign offered an exciting and immersive way for local school students to connect with nature while making a real difference. Set on the beautiful Currumbin Creek, the initiative gave students a chance to explore the waterway from their paddleboards before rolling up their sleeves for a meaningful beach clean-up and educational session.
Students took part in the collection and analysis of litter, learning firsthand about the types and sources of debris affecting our local ecosystems. The data they recorded was submitted to the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI), contributing to a national database that informs conservation efforts across the country. This hands-on experience helped students see the direct impact of their actions, nurturing a stronger sense of environmental responsibility and community pride.
This program was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Queensland Government Department of Environment and Heritage Protection. Their sponsorship enabled us to deliver an engaging and educational initiative that not only empowered students but also strengthened our collective efforts to protect Australia’s precious marine environments.
Sup2Clean continues to show that through sport, we can inspire action and protect what matters most.
